The Company
MONKII Gallery is an independent online contemporary art gallery and fashion brand, founded in November 2024. Everything—from original paintings and art prints to clothing and accessories—is designed directly by Norwegian artist MONKII.
While we currently operate purely online for a global audience, our vision is to open our first physical location in Oslo: a combined contemporary art gallery and fashion store featuring live music, events, and art exhibitions. Long-term, the goal is to bring this concept to major cities worldwide.
MONKII Gallery's motto is "The world is a playground."
The Artist
Veronica MONKII Freberg is a contemporary artist, actor and fashion designer. MONKII was born on September 6, 1992, in Drammen, Norway.
The main theme in MONKII's artwork is about feeling born in the wrong body. The artist has never transitioned, but has always felt this way and is quite at peace with it now. This is the inspiration behind many of the paintings. We're all humans floating in space on this amazing, blue planet - so why divide ourselves into gender, race and other groups? We're all in this beautiful life together - animals, nature and humans alike. Let's focus on spreading love, equality and positivity, and make this planet a better place while we're here.
Having overcome addiction and a destructive past, MONKII turned the journey into a story of resilience, happiness, inner peace and freedom. Today, that strength, joy, and playful energy are channeled into vibrant artwork and fashion designed to inspire. MONKII’s story is proof that it is possible to rebuild life—and create something beautiful along the way.
For MONKII, the most important thing is to keep a clear and positive mindset, stay healthy, be brave, and live life to the fullest—laughing often and spreading love. This is what the artist wants to inspire in you.

Most of MONKII's paintings are weird cartoon people with huge heads, tiny bodies, and have body parts from both genders. They usually have neon colored hair and look pretty wild. They are not just for transgender people, they are created for anyone who has a good sense of humor and enjoys colorful contemporary art.
