'Frustration' • Fine art nude self portrait
This is a self portrait that I painted last year. It was a really powerful moment and it felt so liberating to create this. I had some painful memories that I needed to release so I decided to take a nude photo of myself while I was expressing my emotions in a true way. Most people suppress their emotions, but the best way to stay happy and peaceful is to confront the feelings and accept them. Suddenly, the emotions are gone and life is amazing again. 
I painted this with acrylic paint on a canvas, ca 40x50 cm. The painting is for sale and can be shipped worldwide. I decided not to paint my mouth, as a way to symbolize that I felt frustrated and silenced. I also did not add any hair, as I many times don't do on portraits of myself. I like the raw look and it's a symbol of being even more emotionally naked and stripped of all of the boxes that we humans make for ourselves. Different types of clothes and hair styles put us in a box and those boxes are usually kinda fake. I wanted this portrait to be real and honest. Just me expressing myself honestly.
